hiiiiii I saw ur tag on that OC Phrases thing and realized I'd love to know more abt Max!! Sooo ig what kind of phrases dyu think Max would have in battle :3c

HEY omg I'm sorry I took so long to get to this ;;w;; I read it the other day and got a little overwhelmed so I decided to do it later but then I Forgor I'm still a little overwhelmed tbh but I'll do my best!!

Quick lore debrief for context:

Max moved to Galar young, so all her battles happened there.

Her first job was basically hustling in underground battles with her partner (Misdreavus, who she obtained from her older, Unova-raised sibling) - they pretended to be noobs together to get easy money. All her lines and her/Misdreavus' actions here are a practiced act.

Second job was as a gym trainer for the Dark gym. Basically Team Yell Lite, given this happened before SWSH, so they (in my headcanon) weren't as rowdy back then as they became when Marnie was competing in the gym challenge.

Third and most recent job in terms of her concrete backstory (her ScarVio and PLA arcs still need work) is as a trainer at the Ice gym.

**For both of her gym jobs, she kinda leans into an act too to get challengers hyped up, but not nearly as much.

Finally, when she's not working, she mostly mains Ghost types!! Her 3 go-tos are Misdreavus, Chandelure and Drifloon. She's also a lot more reserved and true to herself when she's just battling randos.

Job #1:

Intro: Let's do this! J-just, erm, try to go a little easy on us, yeah?

Hit with SE: I should be taking notes...

Lands SE: Whoa, nice job! *Misdreavus chirps happily, maybe does a little spin*

Loss: *Pouting, looking down, fiddling with her pokeball* I knew it... *flashing some big puppy-eyes at the opponent* Can we try again?

Victory: Whoa, seriously?! Must've been beginner's luck - why don't we go again?

Job #2:

Intro: So, you think you can light up a place like this?

Loss: Lucky shot in the dark...

Victory: Just a little too dark for you, huh?

Job #3:

Intro: Ice types are pretty cool huh? Heh... get it? 'Cause-- yeah. Let's go!

Loss: Jeez, dude! You're cool too, aren't you?

Victory: *Giving the opponent a thumbs up* Stay chill, we can try again later!

In The Wild(tm):

Intro: *Max tilts her head and holds out limp wrists, like a gay lil ghost with a Pokeball in one hand. If she's wearing long sleeves, her hands are totally covered, so she holds her ball kinda like Iono in ScarVio does.*

Hit with SE: Spooky.

Lands SE: Haunting, aren't they? (*Referring to whichever mon she has out)

Loss: You're kinda scary...

Victory: Y'need a little more practice, I fear.
